Quality of the camping tent depends on:

   material;

   frame;

   coating;

   sewing technology.

Frame is made out of fibre glass plastic, aluminium, fibreglass or iron. Fibre glass plastic is light and brakes easily. Coleman tents are known for great quality and durability. The tent's cloth material is also very important. In heavy rain it receives all the amount of water. Waterproofing level must be at least 2000 mm.

Good fabric must durable, light and with a high level of waterproofing. Quality of the fabric can be seen visually or it can be tested by slightly stretching the material. Pay attention to guy line fixing points - these places must be glued and covered by patches.

Tent and tent floor stitches must be glued by a special film in high temperatures. It is important that stitches are glued consistently throughout the whole tent length.

Quality camping tents are made by using threads of highest durability. Unfortunately, it is impossible to visually determine quality of the threads. However, if the fabric, floor and poles of the tent are of good quality it means that threads will also be good.

Speaking about fabrics, usually polyester or nylon (polyamide plastic) fibres are used. Polyester is best for external part of the tent. Polyester is resistant to stretching when wet, and it can withstand effects of ultra violet radiation very well. Polyamide is suitable for internal part of the tent. Internal fabric must be light and breathing.

To protect yourself from mosquito attacks at night make sure that your chosen tent is equipped with the mosquito net. Also, a quality tent must have a good ventilation system that will allow fresh air into tent, but will prevent snow and rain from entering tent.
